After two years of fabulous work, my printer has developed a problem.
I start a print & everything appears to be going OK, then at a random point the printer appears to die - the motors stop & the LCD starts flashing along with the led's on the end stops. If I power it off for a few seconds & power it back up the problem continues, if i power it off for a minute or so then the printer starts up OK. This doesn't happen at the same point in a print . I'm guessing it's a heating issue, or a worn cable - anyone got any ideas?
printer suddenly dies
Re: printer suddenly dies
no joy yet. i tried another print over the weekend, just before the printer died the hotend fan sped up quite considerably. Tried replacing the fan - still no fix. I've ordered a replacement hotend heater, will try that next.
Re: printer suddenly dies
I replaced the heater cartridge last night, I've been running a test print today - so far it's been running for 1.5 hrs with no issues - the failure was occurring in less than an hour before, unless I add more to this topic in the next couple of hours, please consider this issue fixed
Re: printer suddenly dies
Hello, it may be a problem with the motherboard. Please check whether there is any LED light on the motherboard. You can use a multimeter to check whether the chip voltage of the motherboard is around 5V to determine whether the motherboard is working properly.
