Capricorn tube shredding?

I am having a problem with the Capricorn PTFE tubing on my Ender 3 that I can't seem to find anyone else posting about. It was extra noticeable because I was using white pla, but little shards of the blue PTFE tube keep coming off and into my print. Sometimes they clog the nozzle a little before they come out, causing some under extrusion.

I was using the dual-gear extruder off Amazon (Creality clone) and then upgraded to the EZR to try and resolve the issues, and no dice.

I even swapped from the Zyltech white PLA to Hatchbox black, and I can still see little blue strings coming off in the print.
