A10M Lcd Screen Replacement

Post by eekeek » Wed Mar 27, 2019 2:25 am

Hey There,

I have a older Spare A10M laying around and I would like to revive it, it has a blown LCD but does power on but not displaying anything but green light.

Is there a replacement I can buy or a compatible screen I could use, it is out of warranty so can't get part's from the supplier :(.

Any help on where I could get one or similar I would be great, Thank you.

It seems we can't get more details of it.
The quick link of the purchase:
https://www.geeetech.com/gt2560-v30-con ... -1040.html
But I suggest you check the motherboard at first.
Maybe the fw broken ,you can try to upload it again.

Hi there William,

I did forget to mention that I did replace the main board "GT2560 V3.0", it originally it was DOA when I got it but the board lights lit up but nothing happened there was power to the LCD and board just nothing displayed on LCD. So I bought another "GT2560 V3.0" working board recently.

Below is what I did:

Step 1. I Changed the the main board for a new known working A10M "GT2560 V3.0" board that I bought.

Step 2. Powered on ok but still no LCD display just blank green light.

Step 3. Changed the LCD2004 from a working A10M that I have and it worked as it should, displays and prints fine.

Step 4. Swapped the suspected non working LCD display into a working A10M and still it was Green Screen and no display :(.

I have looked around and can't find the LCD2004 Controller I need to get my spare A10M working, it would be a shame if I can not find a replacement LCD for it as its a great machine imo.

There has to be one that I can purchase or a compatible LCD surely.

It seems your printer has a short circuit.
You can try to refer to these:
1.Check the PSU is 24V or not
2.Check the motherboard 5V led light or not
3.You can use the multimeter check hotbed input and hotend
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)

Hi there William,

I did the what you suggested and all was fine I couldn't find anything wrong as it's a fairly new GT2560 v3 Board, but I did notice that ribbon cable to the LCD from the GT2560 V3 board wasn't inserted correctly so I re-seated the ribbon cable, but no luck I still get just a green screen with no display. I have tried updating the Firmware to Marlin 1.1.8 (Vanilla) but when I get to upload via Arduino IDE (PC) I get a error saying it cant find A10M printer although it has Marlin 1.1.8 (Vanilla) Flashed already on it.

The only way I can get the non working A10M working is by removing the ribbon cable from the LCD completely and using USB connection and printing from Cura 4.0, it prints away happily or I change the LCD from my other working A10M and exchange that on the one with the bad LCD.

I want the LCD display back for obvious reasons, Functionality 1st and ease of use 2nd.

Hi,eek-eek
It should be an LCD issue.
You need to feedback it to the sales and ask them to send you a new LCD kit.

Hi there William,

Thank you for all your help and trouble shooting William, I guess it's just easier to ask the supplier for a new one in my case.

That's what I did was to ask and I'm getting one from China and should be with me in the next week, although it's a shame that they don't sell them in the Geeetech store.

Thanks again William :).
