a10 can't upload firmware to new gt2560v2
a10 can't upload firmware to new gt2560v2
my original board went crazy after a month. weird movements, clicking sounds, etc. replaced all drivers and motors. no difference.
bought a new gt2560v2. it had the 10m firmware on it. all movements are fine but extruder will not run no matter where you set the mixer.
got the a10 firmware for single extruder.
have tried:
arduino to load ino file--- get several different erro messages (tried other firmwares, same errors)
tried cura to load hex file=- will not see board
tried easy print to load hex file- will not see board
tried x loader for hex file- sees board fine- says upload failed every time
i give up
any ideas?
btw, i have tried 4 win 7 laptops on all steps
also, ii have no problems at all uploading firmware to mega 2560's on a regular basis
also tried 4 usb cables

This might not be your problem but this is a simple mistake that causes issues with those boards and the firmware. is the sd card in the printer at all? Because if it is, when you upload the file through Arduino compiler, it will actually create a boot file in the sd card, which stops the board from getting past the boot screen, which in turn stops Arduino from communicating with your board. So if your printer has an sd card sitting in it pull it out and then turn it on see if it all boots up.
This is literally the first step, because the boards are honestly hard to brick even when there Chinese knockoffs. Plus if its detecting it, I dont see it being bricked being an issue. Let me know what it does curious to help.

the card is not in the printer

Can you post the error messages your receiving from the Arduino compiler? That way maybe I can help narrow the problem down.

i solved my problem the simple way. i installed a ramps 1.4 and mega 2560. uploaded the firmware with no problem (as usual) and threw the gt2560 in the trash. adjusted the esteps as needed and printing just fine.
there is no reason for something so simple to be so hard.
ramps always works.

Glad you got it working, honestly the Chinese gt2560's cause so many issues, I agree its almost just better to swap to the mega and be done with it. Arduino definitely has there boards down pat, and you will have fewer glitches and anomaly's.

totally agree, i run a bank of printers for a living. i don't have time to fart with defective or badly designed boards.
