Possible Solution: A10 Printer wont get past boot load after firmware update

Post by buttervonwaffle » Sat Jan 05, 2019 6:28 pm

I recently Update my printer to the Geeetech A10 Marlin 2.0 firmware update which can be found here I found it to be very useful and helped solve some issues I was having with y axis shifting probably because he corrected alot of the jerk you get with these machines.

Now back to the original purpose of my post, I installed the 2.0 firmware using my 1.8.5 Arduino compiler. I got it loaded succesfully and went to restart my software and kept getting the marlin 2.0 boot load and then nothing on the screen I was confused I couldnt reupload code to the board I was at a loss and thought I would need to burn a new boot loader.

Thankfully this was not the case for me. Because I was still getting a boot load screen I had hope. Then I looked to the right of my LCD screen and realized, my dumb self forgot to remove the SD card... Rule number 100 of firmware updates remove your storage devices.

I then proceeded to turn off my printer remove the SD card, and then boot up the printer. Behold it booted right up and went straight to the info screen.

Moral of the story if you do firmware updates remember to remove your sd cards. Hope this helps someone!

Also on a side note seriously check out that 2.0 beta mixed up by Vert he is the real mvp fixed some serious issues with my firmware, and saved me a load of time.
