I purchased some new extruders for my A10M that will require that the extruder stepper motors get reversed. I know you can alter the firmware to accommodate this but I would rather just re-pin the motor wires. IIRC you can flip the entire plug or just repin and swap one coil.
My extruder motors are oriented shaft up. Let's take E0 extruder motor as the example: from the back of the printer from left to right the wires are: Black, Red, Green, Blue.
I have tested continuity on the stepper motor pins and it appears that the pairs with continuity are Black/Green and Red/Blue.
So, if I understand correctly swapping the black and green orientation OR the red and blue orientation would reverse the extruder direction. Does that sound correct?
After looking through the forum some more does the software in this post work correctly? : http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 17&t=60639

Had the same proble. Change this in your firmware.
#define INVERT_E0_DIR false
#define INVERT_E0_DIR false

Re: New extruder A10M motor direction
FYI: I didn't futz around with the firmware or load the software mentioned/referenced in my OP to change the extruder directions. The wire pairs were as I thought, and I swapped one set per extruder motor to get them to reverse direction. Basically, it's a 6 pin/slot connection with no wires in the 2 or 5 slots. So, 1,3,4, and 6 slots have motor wires. Out of those 4 wires 1/4 and 3/6 are the wire pairs. I just swapped the 1/4 pair in the connector on each extruder motor like was mentioned in the OP. HTH
Also, I'll be posting my experience with the mod to swap in some Bondtech BMG extruder clones. I just got them installed and it's a direct swap other than the motor direction and the filament sensor is binding a little because the filament entry port doesn't really line up on the new extruder, it's a little bit higher than on the OEM extruders. I should be able to print a small spacer to raise the filament sensor up or I may even be able to bend the mounting arm to help. I'll play with that in the next week or so, as they work but it isn't perfect.
In any case, look for a post in the next week or two reviewing the Bondtech BMG extruder clones. I purchased the FYSETC branded clones and after coupons etc. they were just under $20 USD /ea. For that price, I figured I would just order the clones rather than print the extruder STL files and buy the hardware. I received them from FYSETC Aliexpress store, shipped to the US in just over 2 weeks from the date I ordered.
BTW I made the change because I became tired of messing with the stock A10M Titan style extruders.
