Z Axis One Side Not Working

I’m having some trouble with my newly built Prusa i3 Aluminium from Geeetech. After assembling, the Z axis that carries the motor has been getting stuck on one side when I try to electronically raise it through the software.

Steps taken:

Disassembled rods and threaded inserts to make sure everything was smooth.
Checked for bent rods
Raised voltage on Z axis motors – here they are both going to the same board through a splitter that was provided. I ran my multimeter and saw the voltage was 0.8V. After seeing some guides I went to 1.1V but it is still stuck.

Has anyone had a similar problem and solved it or have any suggestions?

The non-working stepper is not wired properly, hence the hammering. When I replaced the z-screws and steppers on my printer (same model as yours) I had to reverse the inside 2 wires on the motor connector. I also had to increase the current limit on the driver, which you have already done. I set mine to 1.2 volts, and added a heatsink.

Couplings of right install not correct

The screw at the right hand side appears to be sticking out of the top plate more than the one at the left. Are you sure it's connected properly to the flex coupling at the bottom right? Did you check the distance between the X axis leadscrew nuts and the Z-axis motor mounting plates at both sides? The measurement should be the same at both sides or the nuts will bind on the screws because the X-axis won't be perpendicular to the Z-axis,and the motors will stall giving that ticking noise, this is the first part of the mechanical calibration before you ensure the bed's level.
