MeCreator Marlin RC8 Update

Hi,

I've got an original MeCreator with the sanguino board and the LCD2004 with SD controller. I'm quite experienced with Marlin and have built 4 printers, 2 from scratch (no kit). I want to update the firmware from the standard setup to use the RC8 version as I would like to be able to use the mesh bed leveling feature since this bed seems to get knocked out of adjustment after every print.

I am able to modify and upload the standard firmware, but when I upload the newer version of Marlin, unfortunately the LCD screen just flashes and the printer moves the X Axis to the left. I am assuming that the pin definitions in the new version of Marlin are not matching up with the MeCreator board.

Has anyone else updated their firmware on the MeCreator with the Sanguino board to use the newest version of Marlin? I'd sure like to avoid going through the code line by line to find the custom configurations that GeeeTech made.
