Repeated error compiling

I get these errors:-

core.a(main.cpp.o): In function `main':
/Users/ricktwyman/Downloads/Arduino-2.app/Contents/Resources/Java/hardware/arduino/cores/arduino/main.cpp:5: undefined reference to `setup'
/Users/ricktwyman/Downloads/Arduino-2.app/Contents/Resources/Java/hardware/arduino/cores/arduino/main.cpp:15: undefined reference to `loop'

I am using an iMac(2007) trying to load firmware from your site and loading onto a recently assembled delay G2 or G2s (not sure which one -- how do I know?)

I have tried Arduino IDE 1.82, 1.06 and most recently legacy version 1.05.

Help please for this ancient newbie.

P.S. It would help to have a list of parameters that should be set in "configure.h"

First,maybe you should reinstall your firmware which is from this post:viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17046；
Second,your Arduino should be version 1.0.1 which will be more stable and you can find it in this link:https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/OldSoftw ... ases#1.0.x.
