How to install the firmware for GT2560
How to install the firmware for GT2560
Hi guys, recently I find some newcomers in 3D printers don't quite know how to install the firmware for GT2560 board, so today I'll show it here~~
To install the firmware, you'll gonna need Arduino 1.0.1 for old version marlin firmware (or Arduino 1.8.5 for Marlin 1.1.8), your firmware, your motherboard with a USB and that's all.
You can download the firmware for your printer here:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 10&t=17046
Let's get start for GT2560~~~~~~~~~~
( for sanguinololu, please come to here: http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=16433 )
1. Install Arduino on your PC.
If your printer is A10/A10M/A20/A20M, please use Arduino 1.8.5 to finish the upload;
If it is Prusa I3 Pro B/W/X/C, please go for Arduino 1.0.1!!
Otherwise, you might get some bugs during the verifying.
Download Arduino 1.0.1 or Arduino 1.8.5 here:
https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/OldSoftw ... s#previous
2. Connect the printer to the PC with your USB cable.
3. Unzip the firmware.
Here we take firmware for I3 pro C dual extruder for example.
The process for A10/A20 series is quite similar, except the Arduino in a different version. Also, this video shows you the example:

You can download the one for your printer here:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 10&t=17046
4. double click the Marlin.ino, then you'll open the whole firmware in the arduino.
5. Select proper Com port.
6. Under Tools, in Board, select Mega 2560 .
7. Finally click the arrow to compile and upload the firmware to your printer.
Part2
If your PC is MAC(OSX sierra or more high version)
1.Refer to this website at first

2.Then check the flash of the mainboard, refer to:

3.Download Arduino 1.0.1

4.Other steps are same as the Windows system method Thanks!

Re: How to install the firmware for GT2560
hi, new on, but..need help please
i've got a rumba board, the one with jumpers on the motor drivers (not dip switchs) its the £50 board. i had a marlin and arduino set up that was up and running, after installing the reprap drivers and other bits the marlin editions i tried would not compile, (sorted that from this page, thank you), i know have the 'arduino mega 2560 or mega adk' in my list and the marlin now compiles..i've followed all the google methods to install to no avail, etc, and three days strait into it this as far as i've got.
...marlin now compiles, and the port shows the rumba board as 'arduino mega 2560'
my problem has been with the reprap page rumba driver (the one that enable's you to flash the board) keeps coming up with a virous, the virous is indeed listed, and it takes up to 3 reboots and 3 virous scans to get rid of the virous..some say it isnt really a virous but the majority say it is along with half a dozen diferent malware or virous programs that remove it so... not to keen on 'ignoring' that one tbh.
i did install and try that, but as soon as it was installed the pc port was no longer visable..arduino no longer picked the port up eather, nor in marlin. i've removed it.
my question, is there a page on here with relavent merlin set ups etc? and do i still need the driver now that it shows 'arduino mega 2560 or mega adk' in list?
and...which programmer needs to checked in the arduino/merlin drop down box?
am i on the right track at all??

Re: How to install the firmware for GT2560
if you can see the com port, and can control the printer through the USB then you don't need it.
Re: How to install the firmware for GT2560
hmm, thank you, i'l try that shortly.
Re: How to install the firmware for GT2560

Re: How to install the firmware for GT2560
if you have rebuild it to a dual extruder then you can use the firmware for I3 pro C.
