Y axis stepper motor issue
Y axis stepper motor issue
I just finished to assembly my Geetech i3B 3D printer(Sanguinololu board) and I'm experiencing the following issue:
So far everything looks to work fine however the heat bed on the Y axis it travels only in one direction.
If I push the Y+ it will go backwards(towards the back of the printer where the switch is located) and if I push the Y- it still goes backwards. I'm not sure why the motor doesn't change direction. Also when I hit the Home button for Y axis it goes all the way back but even after it hits the rear switch it won't stop right away.
So I'm not sure what to check to correct this issue. If any of you have any advise please let me know. Thx!

Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
Please check if y endstop is connected correctly, it should be connected to "SIG" and "GND".
Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
Verified and it is connected!
What else should I check?

Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
How is it when you let all the axes auto home?
Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
After I press Auto Home all the axis return to the home position I mean they hit the switch and then stop which I guess is normal.

Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
Could you please take some pictures of printer in different angles? Including front side, left side, back side.
And please take a picture of mainboard with wiring, I want to check if every endstop is in correct position.a

Some thing you described is contradictory:

Which one is real situation? Does y axis stop when it hits endstop? Also when I hit the Home button for Y axis it goes all the way back but even after it hits the rear switch it won't stop right away.
Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
Sorry for the confusion. When I hit the Home button the Y axis moves back home and after it hits the switch it is still trying to move in the same direction for about 2-3sec. and then it stops. Another note that I want to mention is that when I'm in the Prepare mode (selected on the LCD) and then select Move axis then I select the Y axis I can only move it in one direction it will go towards the back as I increase the number but it won't move forward as a decrease the number while on all the other axis it works fine the same setting. Thanks again for your help!

Re: Y axis stepper motor issue
Please check if y endstop is fine:
Swap x endstop with y endstop. Then click auto home.
