My z-axis is a bit wonky

Post by pixelatex » Fri Apr 10, 2015 4:02 am

My z-axis won't turn.. So I removed the top acrylic caps keeping the threaded & smooth rod in place and suddenly, It moved.

The acryllic part(A6, Smooth rod fixed plate, PI3A-M06) is causing issues and not allowing the rods to turn properly.

Upon inspection, I noticed that the threaded rod was not turning but wobbling a bit instead. I replaced them with new, perfectly straight rods and noticed that they were still wobbling a bit causing the same issue..

Any ideas why my threaded rod isn't turning perfectly straight?

The couplings are bolted like the assembly manual said.. I can't really change much about that

I reattached EVERYTHING... and they are still wonky and causing issues now and then... I think the cause may be the printed parts.. They are pretty poorly done and I've had to fix one or two of them already..

Please use a multimeter to test the voltage between the screw on Z motor driver and GND.
