You have noticed yourself that you are using materials with very different moulding temperatures.
In addition, even deep retraction will not empty the head when changing material.
Therefore, two separate printheads, rather than a mixer head, are best suited for this application.
Coming back to printing with different materials I can recommend you to test some options in slicer. See image:

This will help you to solve the problem of retraction. In my example, the options are default.
By the way, it is very interesting what you are doing.

Re: A10M PVA Supports
Hello (new on this forum),
I own a CR10S pro wich is just perfect and fit all my need until now, but like the OP, I bought an A20m to try PVA supports.
So, here is my question : using a purge bucket and a mid temperature (200°) what would be the problem of using PVA as support ?
(I ll try and will give you some feedbacks)

Purge bucket is the best solution.

TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.

Re: A10M PVA Supports
How to set CURA or Slic3r PE so that one extruder prints model and the other support?
Can it be set up with cleaning to the tower? Both types of filament have the same temperatures. It's not about PVA
Thank

Re: A10M PVA Supports
I used HIPS for support and printing is completely free of problems with different types of materials.(PLA, ASA, FLEX, PLA3D850, ASA275)
I use Prusa Slic3r + Repetier Server.
