Same problem: After upgrading the firmware to 1.37.58 and 1.36.37 (LCD), the Z-axis couldn't be saved for leveling anymore!
After downgrading the mainboard and LCD to 1.35.56 via "EasyPrint 3D", the Z-axis was saved again after levelling! No problems anymore

My A30 used to go out of level and need re-leveling frequently, I haven't had to do it for over a month since I found the cause. People kept telling me it was skipped or missed stepper motor steps But often it would change whilst I didn't use it. Mine would end up 2mm out with the frame after a few weeks and then would stay like that. If I tried to level the beam with the frame I notice the Z nut would get tighter as it got level. That was my clue the beam was set-up with the right hand side 2mm higher than the left. I removed the bolts that fix the Z carriage to the X beam on the idler side. The spacer was under the motor side and I had the 2 mm gap the other side. On releasing the last bolt nothing happened You'd expect it to drop either with stress or gravity up it stayed 2 mm above the spacer. That explains why it always end up 2 mm out.
I disconnected the extruder and thought I could slacken off the fixing bolts through the plate into the beam, unfortunately the vertical beam is in the way. So I drilled 2 holes in the vertical beam and adjusted the horizontal beam (see https://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopi ... 65&t=68801) for full description. Re-leveled the beam to the frame and then bed to nozzle and it's been great ever since. I can now leave it a week and just print without re-leveling where as before I'd have to at least check the level every print and often re-level a few times a day.
