Does this sound like my A10M MB is dead?

Post by Boraes » Mon Jun 10, 2019 7:45 am

Ok so my first turn on of my A10M caused a power surge that fried my PC motherboard (Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H) which is it's own issue to be resolved. However since then I have installed all the necessary USB drivers and recommended software for this the printer. When connecting and turning the printer on it powers up humming the red lights on all 3 axis motors have turn on. There is no life being shown from the hotend fan or the LCD what-so-ever. Also I am unable to see the printer in device manager. From other users posting similar problems I've tried moving the axis as has been suggested to them and I have found them to be stiff and not moving which I've read indicates that marlin isn't loading.

I have tried this on two different laptops to confirm my belief that when I first turned the printer on and the power surge killed my MB on my PC that it has also fried the 2 x PCB's on the printer.

Can anyone confirm that it sounds like the printer's MB is not working?

Hi, now your screen can't be opened, and you can't connect to the computer. When you turn on the printer, do the three lights on the motherboard light up?

Not that I can see. The only lights are the three red leds where the cables plug into the axis motors.

Maybe you need to plug each cable into the motherboard and turn on the power to check. What caused the motherboard to explode.
