On my 24V-A30, the extruder motor is so hot after a short time that the filament in the feeder becomes soft. The consequence of this is first significant under-extrusion and finally the filament jams when threaded into the PTFE tube.
Even if I let the motor run without having to transport filament the motor will be too hot after a short time.
I have measured the following voltages on the driver components:
X: 0.95V Y: 0.95V Z: 1.08V (triple block from left to right)
and Extr.: 0.55V (single driver right).
Actually, the 0.55V are already less than normal ?.
How far can the voltage be reduced without loss of function (reliable filament transport) and to reduce the heat production?
Is it possible that the firmware version has influence (currently V1.36.57)?

Hello.
If you specify an engine model, we can find its nominal parameters. Then you can easily estimate the correct Vref voltage.
Otherwise you can adjust them experimentally.

Re: Extruder motor gets extremely hot
I have two 24V-A30 machines here, both with the same effect (extruder motor extremely hot):
first device:
Hardware version V2.1-null
Serialnr. 180714A3000131E
Firmware V1.38.61
the second device only shows me the firmware: V1.36.57
I have found a formula with which VREF can be determined, but I have to know the maximum or required motor current.

Hi.
You told me everything but the engine.
There is a code engraved on the body of the engine, find it. You can write them here or show them in a photo.
