Hello,
I plan to buy a geeetech A10. I would like to print Pla/pva combo.
So I need a dual extruder and dual nozzle printer
I think the A10M is not suitable for me because there is only one nozzle
I would like to know how to upgrade the A10 simple extruder model in a dual extruder dual nozzle printer if it’s possible
Thanks for your answer and sorry for my bad english !
See you
A10 dual extruder upgrade
Re: A10 dual extruder upgrade
If you want to upgrade it to the dual extruder with dual nozzle.
You need to refer to these:
For the hardware:
1.Add the cable for the E1 hotbar,
add the cable for the E1 thermistor
2.Mount the dual nozzle type hotend
For the firmware:
You can upload the firmware of A10D.

-Keep your mind and try to test it.

Re: A10 dual extruder upgrade
Thanks for your answers
So the motherboard of the A10 simple extruder enable me to connect a second extruder without changing anything ?
I’m not afraid by mounting the hardware, but i’m A little bit anxious for the firmware
What i have to do with the a10D firmware ? Just flash it or modify it ?
Thanks

Hi,ripX
You can see the attached pic then you will know what I mean
As you can see there is 4 pin for the hotbar and thermistor(2pin+2pin).
For the pin definitions of the A10/A10M/A10D is the same"GT2560V3".
It means you don't need to change the firmware.
(Still, I suggest you check the power of the hotbar + the type of thermistor then tuning it in firmware)

Re: A10 dual extruder upgrade
Hi,
I would like to carry out the suggested modification on my A10 (with upgraded motherboard) to which I already added a 3D touch.
Is this possible and what kind of dual extruder should I use? I looked in the geeetech shop and only found the dual MK8 which seems like to bulky and it's not mentioned that it can be used on an A10. I was thinking more about a 3D Chimera Hotend Kit Dual Color 2 IN 2 OUT Extruder, or clone.
Do you know a good guide or thread I could follow for the conversion?
Kind regards and thank you in advance
