And then, I finally get a reply from a Tom Yuan who tells me to watch a video I've watched perhaps 30 times trying to get this solved. It's apparent he didn't read the email I sent. How frustrating! :x

OK - By way of an update. They are sending me a new extruder breakout board. God willing that fixes it. On their facebook page, someone suggested I upgrade the firmware (was at 1.37.58, now at 1.38.59) which I did but alas, no joy - still the same behavior.
