A10M problems with extruding dual color
A10M problems with extruding dual color
Hello,
I have severe problems using the Dual-Color functionality of the A10M 2-in-1-out hotend (I think it is the "new" one havenig two seperate cooling-fins)
So I have checked different things: cleaned nozzles, checked various temperature and various PLA-filaments, checked cables, cleaned the gear-drive of both extruders and tightened the tension-spring on the extruder to its maximum and down to minimum. The filament has deep and well visible marks/dents of the gear-drive, so I think tension should be okay. I even swapped one of the small fans so that from one side it sucks fresh air in and on the other side it blows hot air out.
I really do think that the problem is due to the little sieve/filter inside of the two heatbreaks as the small holes are very tiny and the filament has to be pushed against that "obstruction" AND against the other filament as well. I also removed those little sieves, now the filament is being pushed backwards into the heatbreak part.
I REALLY wonder how people can succesfully print dual color with the A10M. Did they change to a different hotend/heatbreak? Or is mine damaged somehow?
Thanks a lot for tipps.
Best regards
Tobias

I am in the same boat!

Hello.
Did you notice how deep the Teflon tube enters
It is very important that its tip is levelly truncated and cannot be cut at an angle.
And it must be inserted into the very end of the tunnel.
Otherwise, there will be problems with the operation of the printer.

Print a set of these to prevent the bowden tubes from backing out of the fittings.

Re: A10M problems with extruding dual color
Hm, I double-triple checked that as well. But I will give the Thingi-parts a try. If not working, I will remove the original printhead and buy a different one with single filament only. Or has anybody installed a Chimera or Cyclops?

Hi.
Note that three different people, after reading your post, indicated one solution to the problem.
