Everything seems to be working more or less perfectly now, but my extruder stops working about 20 mins into any print. Is this a common problem? How do I fix it?
This was PLA at 200 degrees, which seems to work for a while.
I've looked here but it's not really any help:

Prints stopping halfway through
Re: Prints stopping halfway through
1.You can check the temp sensor loose or not
2.You can check the hotend cooling fan work or not
3.You can try to take the hotend off then check the tpfe tube of its inside

-Keep your mind and try to test it.

Ah I don't think I have a PTFE tube with my printer, could be that causing it?

Hi,
I had the same problem. After I took a faster PC the problem was solved.

You need to check the hotend inside at first..Roozlehorse wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:14 pmAh I don't think I have a PTFE tube with my printer, could be that causing it?

I was having a similar problem and it turned out to be the bearing on the movable end of the belt that moves the extruder. I replaced the bearing and no more issues. The bearing was completely shot and locked up without any other signs. I may have over tightened the belt in my zeal to get printing when I first built it. It worked better that I thought up until the little bearing failed. Now 2 years later I am having a nozzle not heating issue, working on that now. Good luck.
