i have been keeping an eye on my molex after i saw this and its started to do the same thing!
WTF geeetech!?!?!?!
only thing ive been doing different is running the bed at 70 instead of 50.
I am no longer using this printer as it is not safe!

Hi
This may be due to a connector defect.
The pins have loosened and do not provide a sufficiently strong contact.
You can successfully repair it yourself or replace the connector.

The point is to take the pins out of the body.
Clean the pins in the jewellery cleaner and finally gently squeeze them with pliers.

Hello, I have have a similar problem, maybe not as big as this one but I did get my 3d printer to "shut down" by a short circuit somewhere...
I had started to see that the heating element is either shorting out or there is an overload on the power distribution supply.
If possible to have answers to fix that problem I'll be glad for any help!
Ps. I might have a solution for the bad connector problem, I will use a custom connector that is not soldered directly on a board but instead has terminal connections with a wire that will be soldered directly on the board (I will take a wire that is double the thickness of the regular ATX connector)..

Hi, same problem. Printed loads, never touch PCB for many weeks. All a sudden failed after I am into half roll of PETG (230C extruder / 70 C bed). It was around 60 minutes into printing when problems started with burnt smell and printer lost power intermittently.
The socket totally desoldered from the board due to the heat.
Geeetech, hopefully you can provide a safe remedy for us, I am not that comfortable soldering the wire directly to the board as suggested by some on other threads/forum/facebook since mine actually heated till the solder melted.

Hi Geeetech. I traced the root cause to thermistor under the heat bed getting dislotch due to the loosen polyomide tape; thus the heat bed drew rose beyond your designed specs. The fuse didn’t activate, but the molex burnt.
This printer been working for about 4 months, into my 3rd reel of filament.
Perhaps you can advise a fix/upgrade for existing users to purchase before any incident happens. Or improve the firmware by incorporating a safety feature to alert (buzzle) if temperature falls despite supplying current to heating element.

They've upgrade it to 230W PSU.

that's another printer dead!
my connector has just burnt. checked it after printer lost power during print and its completely burnt out!
NOT HAPPY!! i dont expect to buy a product and then start removing and soldering things from the board when i have no idea about electronics.
