So as the title suggests I have a scrambled LCD screen at first power on after build and have bee unable to fix it.
I've tried every possible fix I could find online,
Updating firmware,
defining all possible SMART_CONTROLLER etc,
Shortening and using different ribbon cables,
Swapping cable around with sd card slot,
Unplugging thermistor connections and motor connections,
Pressing reset button.
I've used repetier to control and auto home etc so firmware seems fine.
And still screen is scrambled. Have I missed something?
Also the motor problem is that on the Z axis, the left motor will run normally but right motor seems to lag behind or just intermittently work. I've checked and swapped cabling etc but still no joy.
Is it possible that my PCB is damaged? Contributing to both these issues?
Edit: OK managed to fix motors. It seems like the brass holders are not very good and causing the Z axis guide to clamp up so I needed to do a bit of adjusting.
Still need to get this screen up and running though.

Hello.
Most probably, and in your case, the mess on the display is caused by transmission disturbances.
