Messages on Display

Post by Miceltu » Sun Nov 11, 2018 6:15 pm

M117 (send Text to printer) seems not to work, is'n it?
I tried all Displays views. I think the "Printer" view should be the right place. In the midlle there are Messages like "SD Card okay" or pausing.
But no Messages on the Display using the M117 or M70 Command.

I wonder is there really no possibility to send Messages to the Display?
Such a colorful big TFT - and no way to send up any kind of TextMessages to the display?

Okay, this means, that the M117 command (surprinsingly) not use the Send Information, instead I can set the estimated Printtime, right?

=> How/where can I receive the whole gcode List from your example above please?
=> How can I send Text to the Display, please?

Just read this forum ...
e.g.
1. http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 92&t=61877
2. http://www.geeetech.com/forum/search.php?keywords=M117
can be 5th result
Why crying? :o
Of course i searched for M117 here. I get some results - and all of them was some Code snippets like some Start GCodes. This was not a help. And the results for Prusa are also not helpfull for a30.

Nevertheless, many thanks for your help!

And about the GCode List. Look in your linked pdf File at M117. And then have a look to the given picture above from "Admin". Can you see the difference? The english "or" is in chinese letters. So I asked for the complete GCode List, because I thought there must be a different list available.
I think that the linked PDF is quite thin. I hoped there is a "correct" list of all the commands. Hence my demand. I thought that this documentary is just a draft. My mistake.
Smartto still seems to be in its infancy.

Now to the M117 command: I'm surprised why I must send a M117 ETE xxx. And unlike in the documentary you can send any text. The display shows but always stupidly an "E" in front of it. Maybe for estimated?
So a "M117 ETE Hello World" shows on the display "E Hello World".
I have (still) no idea how I can add to the M117 nor an ETE from my software products (maybe write a postprocessor).
It is a pity that this meanwhile standard M117 command to send text is out of the norm.
By the way: An M117 ET Hello brings nothing on the display.

So again many thanks for your answers. I learned, that there is no other "Send Text" Command available and I must add an ETE to the Command M117.

Apparently, the programmer has a different point of view.
I keep my fingers crossed to make it "improved" in the future.
