Re: Auto-leveling
@apak
I have installed the latest Firmware, First I installed the (A30_APP_S_V1.39.62) and then Installed (A30_APP_M_V1.39.62) along with the firmware tool from GEEETech GitHub.
The two I've installed above have now been removed from the GEEETech firmware within the forum,... Moving on, I've found this guy on Youtube made a tutorial installing the firmware and one that I found extremely helpful and it worked. found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeGF-Im ... PeterHomer
@macray76
I give the Sensor another install the other day, by using this guy's Youtube tutorial here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAHluTg ... 3DPRINTING
Although he speaks really clearly and is very easy to understand and follow,... moreover, I think the guy made the video over a couple of days or something, the video keeps cutting to a menu he shouldn't have got to, at that point, If you watch it, you'll see what I'm talking about,... though, you may understand somewhat better than me to actually getting the PNP sensor to work.
Have a look, tell me what you think.
I did try, I celebrated the sensor at the position Five on the heat-bed, and once I thought it was all set,... I started the test print and it went ahead and tested Position 1 and then measured position 2 when it arrived at the 3rd position, it just kept on Bed Crashing.
Now I'm all out of ideas. If you've managed to get yours working, could you do a tutorial, please?

Re: Auto-leveling
I knew that video. I´ve been working with that version for some time, only to get back. Seams to be a fresh new firmware just about to be released....check github IAR section
Re: Auto-leveling
@alienmoon - since I wrote that post I've switched back to manual leveling and to be honest my prints are great. I don't think auto-leveling would make any improvement.
So for now I'm sticking with manual leveling until such time as Geeetech conclusively prove that the auto-leveling is fixed.

Re: Auto-leveling
I've had great success with levelling using the capacitance sensor. This is what I do:
1) Make sure the bed is aligned to the actual machine. This does not need to be done too often, in fact I've done it once.
Full details here: http://geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 661#p86325
2) (part of the above) You need to level the gantry to the bed once it is level. I find this needs to be done every couple of prints.
Now for the auto level. I assume the settings are enabled on your machine. I do not specifically heat up anything and as such dont list it in steps below, not sure it makes much difference.
You should also have the sensor setup correctly. This is also a once off.
1) get the nozzle close to the bed, like paper close.
2) adjust the sensor so that it is 2-5mm away from the bed. 100% no chance of hitting the bed.
3) adjust the sensitivity on the sensor so that the LED goes off, then slowly adjust it till the LED just comes on. You should be able to slightly wiggle the head without the LED flickering.
Now this needs to be done every time the machine is tuned on.
1) Go to level -> auto level and click "nozzle"
2) Wait for it do do the dance, and stop in the middle. It should be +-15 mm from the bed.
3) move it down one 10mm step,
hit the 10mm button and move it down 1mm till it is visually close.
hit the 1mm button and move it down 0.1mm whilst wiggling a sheet of paper about under the nozzle.
if the paper jams, go up a notch and then repeat with 0.05mm steps. I generally make sure the paper is completely free, one extra 0.005mm and it starts dragging.I keep it a little looser because I DONT PRE-HEAT!!!!!
4) IMPORTANT! click OK
5) click back, the head should jump up a few mm.
That is it! I can print and reprint just fine until the machine is turned off.
PS I also have a lot of scratches on my bed, but since working it out Idont have any issues.

Re: Auto-leveling
Well, First, I'm new here...just got the A30 about 3 weeks ago...made 2 prints....little nothings....well one I'm using...the spool mod to place the spool on top of the printer and not on the control box....well I got my auto leveling sensor Monday....installed it just to install...no calabrations ....today I calabrated it and seems to be working great...I used the second video posted in page 2... took me about 3 times to do it just because I didn't have the sensitivity if the sensor right...ones I got it working I did the steps again and now getting ready to do a print
Re: Auto-leveling
Just installed the Petsfang V6 on my A30 with the ABL sensor.
On the Petsfang page at thingiverse ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2993902 ) it says/;
ABL PROBE OFFSETS
Here are X & Y OFFSETS for the right side attachable ABL mounts.
18MM EZABL X +42 Y +1
MINI EZABL X +42 Y +1
BLTOUCH X +48 Y -2
I have the mini, but how to set it up ?
every time the leveling reach the right side of the bed, the sensor is out of the bed and the nozzle crash into the bed....
Any ideas?

Re: Auto-leveling
Because Geeetech has not posted the latest version of the source code for the A30 firmware, there is no way to change the values for the ABL probe offsets. Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done until they post the source code.snir2001 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 17, 2018 4:16 amJust installed the Petsfang V6 on my A30 with the ABL sensor.

I opened a ticket on their Github site with no response.
Re: Auto-leveling
Hello, i am having problems, using 3d touch on geeetech a30, i have the latest firmware (a30_m_lcd_v1_37.bin and A30_VD_s_v1_58.bin, along with the SD card for LCD updated with new system files)
the probe does an initial self test upon startup but when i click probe up or probe down the pin doesnt retract. when i click nozzle the extruder runs into the bed.
i believe this is a firmware issue but do not know what ones to upload to printer.

Re: Auto-leveling
Make sure you have 3DTouch enabled in the LCD. To do so, go to Control, Leveling, Auto Level, and make sure the slider on the bottom of the screen is lit up next to "3D Touch"Johnben wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 3:07 amHello, i am having problems, using 3d touch on geeetech a30, i have the latest firmware (a30_m_lcd_v1_37.bin and A30_VD_s_v1_58.bin, along with the SD card for LCD updated with new system files)
