A30 automatically pausing
A30 automatically pausing
Just bought a new A30. the supplied test files on the SD card print just fine, but any file I prepare in Cura will pause during the print, I have to manually unpause to continue. this happens randomly.
I do not think that is is a hardware or firmware issue because both test files supplied with the printer run without interruption.
I am new to printing, so it is probably something simple, any ideas?
New version of A30, 24v.
Latest firmware was already on the machine. I have not changed or messed with it.
I downloaded and added the A30 printer profile for cura from this site.

Re: A30 automatically pausing
you have the same issue when you print via sd ?
Re: A30 automatically pausing
I only print using the SD card, pc is not connected.
Should I reflash firmware? I checked the version it is newest.

Re: A30 automatically pausing
retry with another slicer then cuira, or a lower version of cura
Re: A30 automatically pausing
I updated my firmware, which was a chore. there are too many methods and files which confuses the noob in me.
After doing firmware updates, my Cura prepped Gcodes are no longer pausing at random, and print quality is much better.
I am starting to print single walled RC airplane wings now with some success:
I did find another major issue with the printer, however, I noticed that the hotend and nozzle was at a sharp angle to the axis. The way the hot end is secured to the axis travel box is terrible. It is mounted with no support whatsoever into a sheet metal housing and was tilted at an angle of nearly ten degrees, not a good design. I used nuts and washers to shim the hotend horseshoe mount flat for now and I am printing the petsfang cooler and mount and will try that soon.

Re: A30 automatically pausing
Please keep in mind you print the right petsfang files and you need to buy additional fans for the petsfang.
also the hotend itself is different.

Re: A30 automatically pausing
I have the fans but did not buy a new hot end. I thought the A30 had an e3v6 clone from factory, is it different? What type of hot end is it?
Re: A30 automatically pausing
Some kind of MK10, even the nozzles are no V6.
If you wanna upgrade i remmond the V6 + titan extruder from trianglelabs on aliexpress.

Re: A30 automatically pausing
I have finally found the cause of the random pausing issue. The printer does not like one of my SD cards. Any time I use that particular card I get random pauses during the print. It is a PNY 16gb sdhc card.
Th SD card supplied with the printer never pauses during a print.
Is there a size limit, or a certain brand and type of SD that works best with printers?
