New printer, dead power supply?
New printer, dead power supply?
I was very excited to receive my A10 (my first 3D printer) today and get printing! I got everything put together and hooked up, according to the directions. I plugged it in, flipped the power switch (which then lit up)... and nothing else happened.
My best guess is that the power supply is dead-on-arrival, as there's not even a fan running on that. If it helps, I'm in the US and have the voltage on the power supply flipped to 110v.
Can anyone help confirm what might be wrong?

Re: New printer, dead power supply?
Check inside the board if is all connect.
Check in the left side of the board (the cable from psu) with a multimeter,if you got 24v while psu is on
If you haven't psu is dead.Try to check fuse next to on-off switch
This printer work also at 110v?

Hi
Is there a ~110/~230V AC switch on the main power supply?
You can check in which position it is.

Re: New printer, dead power supply?
Unfortunately, I don't have a multimeter. I did check the fuse and it looked fine. I also checked the connections to the board and everything looked good there, as well.
I have the 110/230V switch flipped to 110v, as that is standard in the United States. If the printer won't work at 110v, then clearly I have a bigger problem.
If the PSU was functioning properly, its fan should be running when powered on, yes? Literally the ONLY thing that happened when I turned on the power switch was that the power switch lit up. No fans anywhere, no hums, no buzzes, no sparks, no smoke. Just silence.

Re: New printer, dead power supply?
It's a stupid question but the power supply are connected with the yellow "Du Pont"-Adaptor to the mainboard?
If yes, pulled out the connector and measure the voltage.
You do it onto your own risk, please!!!

Re: New printer, dead power supply?
Everything is hooked up according to the guide provided in the box. That said, I have a multimeter on the way from Amazon to dig in a little further.
Assuming that it does turn out to be a faulty power supply, will I need to resolve that with the retailer or Geeetech directly?

Hello.
This is what you do with your retailer, who then reports to the Geeetech staff.

Re: New printer, dead power supply?
Multimeter acquired and measurements taken on both input and output (see pictures below). So unless I'm doing this wrong (I followed instructions best I could, but it's my first time using a multimeter), the PSU is truly dead. I guess now I need to send this off to GearBest and get a replacement...
Thanks again, all, for the help!
Here's my input measurement:

Hello.
The low-voltage cable appears to be unplugged. You can see it better in the first photo.

Re: New printer, dead power supply?
Can you please confirm what you are referring to as the low voltage cable?
I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that I don't need to actually have the PSU plugged into the printer itself to be able to test the output voltage from the power supply.
