Z-axis threaded rods

Post by Steve_D » Sun Aug 19, 2018 12:46 am

I have assembled the DIY kit for this model with no shortage of problems along the way. Now that it is finally working, I have discovered that the threaded rods for the z-axis have a slight bend to them. I'm wondering the best method to overcome the sideways movement created by the bent rods. Or, where can i get a pair of straight rods to replace them?

Hi

Straightening the trapezoidal screws can be difficult. But it is worth trying. ;)

If this operation fails, you will be forced to buy new ones. Read in the list of elements what type of trapezoidal bolts they are.
These can be TR8x2.0 or TR8x2.5, I'm not sure now.
The parameter 2.0 or 2.5 determines the value of the linear displacement (in mm) per one full revolution of the bolt about its axis.

On the forum I help to use the rod, I don't give fish.
