[URG] Nozzle heating problem
Hi,
I got A10 3 days ago, and I could print out the sample 'dog' successfully 2 days ago and a fan cover today.
Problem happened during my 3rd testing, the printer stopped in the middle of printing.
And I tried to print again, but then nozzle temperature never goes up from around 29~31 degree.
I turned off and on the machine properly several times and tried again, but it didn't work.
I tried with different gcode, but didn't work.
Whenever I tried, it is stuck at nozzle heating.
In order to fix this issue, I tried to do firmware upgrade, Arduino reports an error at the following line (around 38th line);
struct fpos_f {
error message: using typedef-name 'fpos_t' after 'struct'
Please help fixing this problem.
thanks.

Re: [URG] Nozzle heating problem
But I think it may not be the problem of firmware.
You can loosen the screws of mainboard box, check if there is a light flashing near the extruder wiring slot when heating nozzle.
Or, you can check if the wiring of the hotend heater loose or not.

Re: [URG] Nozzle heating problem
Yes, I just did it with big doubt.
The reasons I am saying 'big doubt' are
- It worked when I got it: if it were firmware problem, it shouldn't work from the begining.
- Using old version of Arduino??? : yes I could upgrade the firmware amazingly with old version.
- I got A10 just 5 days ago, too new to be firmware outdated.
Anyway, I did as you said. But the problem is not fixed.
Here is what I also did after sending my earlier post.
- Not using the printer for hours around 3~5 hours
- Unplugged all the cables and reconnect
Here is some information of my computer setting and how I used the printer
- Printing from the memory card you provided
- Making gcode using Cura
- Followed Cura setting guide from Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HkZHXK5n4I&t=921s
- Used only PLA (I think sample filament you provided was also PLA, right?)
Printing history
- The dog: sample design in SD card - couldn't finish because the filament was not enough. Output was pretty good.
- fan cover: downloaded from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3024079. Output was pretty good.
- phone stand: problem happened while trying to print this (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/ ... hone-stand). I was struggling from filament not sticking on the heating bed. And printer stopped all of sudden during printing.
Hope longer and detail answer this time.
Thanks.

Re: [URG] Nozzle heating problem
Yes, I totally agree that it doesn't seem to be firmware problem. It worked just fine.
As you recommend, I opened the box and looked.... I have almost no idea what goes where...
I could see 3 lamps are flashing. hmmm
thank you.

The light above the extruder slot, when heating it will flash.

When you just set the temperature through LCD->CONTROL->TEMPERATURE->NOZZLE->200, without any print work, can it be heated up?

Re: [URG] Nozzle heating problem
Thanks for detail explanation with a photo.
With you guide, I experimented several things. But it still doesn't work.
Wiring and software seem OK.
Anyway, please have a look at the photos with my description.
Before doing anything. LED is not splashing.
LED is on after applying your instruction (LCD->CONTROL->TEMPERATURE->NOZZLE->200)
But temp didn't go up.
So, I tried to print out in order to see if it works ok or not.
It totally worked fine, but again temp didn't go up. hmm..
Photo 1,2,3: Bed temp goes up (LED is not on)
Photo 4: When Bed temp reached the targeted temp, LED is on but temp didn't go up.
Any other idea??

Re: [URG] Nozzle heating problem
Hi,
I found another problem after firmware update.
When I set 'Go Home', printer head goes up all the way up and does not stop until I cut off the power.
Please have a look at the video I recorded.

hmmmm. please help.

Re: [URG] Nozzle heating problem
Which firmware? The one from this forum?
So now there are two problems: nozzle heating and auto home, right?
