E180 Firmware Upgrade
E180 Firmware Upgrade
Hi All
Just got an E180 to see what it's like.
Having a problem with the firmware upgrade.
I downloaded latest version of EasyPrint and checked the Firmware version on the printer - it was old so I went for an update.
It's now stuck on "Updating LCD and has been for about an hour with no progress.
Any suggestions ?
Ben

Re: E180 Firmware Upgrade
What's the version of easyprint you downloaded?(If you want the details about the version, please review my instruction showing in Bug report)
You also can choose the smartto tools for your upgrading(https://github.com/Geeetech3D/Smartto-E ... ster/tools)
PM me if you have any questions about these softwares

Re: E180 Firmware Upgrade
@discopants9
I extracted the toolkit straight to C:\ so it went into a folder called Toolkits
I also made sure the SD card was in the back of the printer
The Toolkit now runs fine
@sean
I ran the toolkit fine and it seemed to upgrade the firmware to 1.35.56
However, then I did an upgrade on the LCD too. The LCD said "Firmware upgrade" and after a while, the printer rebooted.
When it came back, the LCD was completely unresponsive when you pushed the on-screen buttons
I turned the printer off and on again and it's still completely unresponsive to touch
Any ideas ?

Re: E180 Firmware Upgrade
Hold on - sorted it.
The unresponsive screen was due to the screen not being calibrated
I pressed randomly around and started getting into the menus
With a bit of luck, I found the right menu for screen calibration and managed to work out where it thought the button was
When I recalibrated my screen, the printer menus now work fine and the printer is reporting the correct firmware version
So I'm back in business
Now to work out why my Y axis is not moving correctly lol
