These parts were in my box instead of the spool holder and pen. What are they for, please?

This is the new spool holder, instead of the acrylic ones that they gave last time.

Can't picture how they're used as a spool holder.
I bought one from Amazon in the meantime since I couldn't figure out what those metal parts were for. :)
