Problems I am having with the E180

Post by sectorbob » Tue Jan 16, 2018 8:56 am

Hello,
Right now I am having mechanical problems with the E180. The pla feeder seems to be refusing to release the filament so I can take apart the print head and the print head is clogged (the pla curls to the left as it comes out and it come out very slow). Tried heating it up to max and forcing pla thur but still slow. Need a repair manual for this thing... is there one available?
Thanks
Bob

The nozzle is clogged. You sent me an extra nozzle to replace it.. how do I replace it? there is nothing in any documents or FAQ on your printer on how to do this. It is a hardware issue.. there is not enough pla coming out of the nozzle. You want to see a video of plastic not coming out of the printer? OK.. I will make one and post it.

Never mind, while searching on youtube about how to post I found a few videos on how to clean a nozzle head. Basically I had to disconnect the feed tube and keep working the pla in and out of the chamber till I pulled it or forced it out. Annoying but simple once I figured it out.
For those following along at home, here is one of the videos that helped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3uifAAVh-Y

hmm yours has a little nub or button? mine has a screw thread.. I wound up taking the whole print head assembly apart to change the removable head.. annoying but not too hard. Not liking the fact it is impossible to just replace the brass head. How much to replacement heads cost? how long for them to ship?

I found one on ebay for 26 dollars so not that bad expense wise.. I got both heads then came with the printer working but they very prone to clogging. Simple 3d software is still so buggy that I'm hating it. When it works it works good. But it crashes about every 3rd slicing job. And will forget support even though selected. Also the E180 would really be good with a heated bed. Any kit for that in the works?

The E180's positioning is used in education, so its power consumption limits it's inability to add heat beds
You can try to use the CURA fo slicing

Hello. I cannot pull up the lever. What tool did you use. In case the lever is stuck may I use a bit of W40?
