Basic guide to lead screw upgrade, i3 Pro B

Post by Will2018 » Mon Jan 08, 2018 6:23 am

Hi

Is there a basic guide to upgrade the i3 Pro B threaded screws to lead screw please?

Ie how to make the hardware change and also the software plus any extra calibration.

Also advice on which lead screws to purchase. This is for the Z axis.

Ok, thanks. But..
1) that setting doesn’t seem to get remembered by the printer.
And 2) the head doesn’t return to correct Z origin and judders when trying to move.
Is it because the motors aren’t suitable for a steps value of as little as 400? Should I swap back to threaded rod?

@William

I've just added the T8's to my first printer and I've been looking for anything related to editing the firmware for the T8s.

I take it with you adding the above reference, that you've also done this mod?

If so, me being new n all, so I just copy what you've entered and I should be good to go?

@Will2018

Did you ever get this fixed?

If so, could you please, share any working edits to the firmware in relation to the T8s?

Thank you to both of you, any pointers would be appreciated.
