But LCD now says its a Ultimaker
So I think it's the wrong controller
But it did load the firmware
Finally some progress !!!!!
It just says ultimaker because the board configuration is nearly equivalent to Ultimaker. Geeetech configured it as such too. But I didn't change the machine name string. But if you want I can do so in 5 seconds. :D

Ok, then it is matching my configuration...
Is the knob working now?
Can you send commands with arduino IDE terminal? Baud rate @ 250000...

And regarding the motors... I think after reset when you don't home the motors move in negative axis direction only!
So try to move all axis berfore powerup in the middle position and then go to Prepare->Move Axis-> X or Y Axis (try both). Then increase the number a bit, the motor will not move. Reduce the number and your motor should start moving.

If you try homing your printer (if the knob is not working try "G28" over terminal) move the axis in middle position and toggle the endstops before your head/teh bed actually reaches them. This way you can be sure that you have enought time if the endstops should not work.

The motors may not move at all if your endstop switch is triggered... Try "M119" to test if your switches work correctely. Also try to press them and see if the status changes... Then try to home. After homeing your motors should behave normal.

You can change the language of the pribter firmware in the "Configuration.h" file.
Search for "LCD_LANGUAGE" and change the "en" to your language. For example "ru" (explained next to this option in the file)
Does "The knob does the same thing" mean: The knob's rotation detection is still not working?

Can you check if you have electrical contact from your motor (directly at the motor plug) to the Stepper driver

Do this without power from the powersupply!
Multimeter set to diode/resistance test

Are the stepper drivers placed in the right orientation? You can compare their placement with your old board...
You could also try to exchange the stepper drivers with your defective board... (But mind that you plug them in the right way!)

Another test you can do is to try to turn the motors first while power is turned off and second with the board powered on.
If you feel a greater resistance from the motors (called holding torque) if you board is powered, you know that they are getting power and it is an configuration problem.

My board for example had a bad solder joint on one stepper driver and on the backside of the board at one socket of a stepper driver.

Is the knob working now?
Can you change between the menu entrys or in/decrease values?
