From what you said, i think it is not caused by the firmware.
Maybe the board has some issue.
Can you take a picture show the issue?

I have managed to get the firmware uploaded the screen is now working correctly and no screaching

the problem i now have is that when i connect to the printer using the repetier software the connection button says its connected to printer but i cant control anything from the software, also i manage to manually can move all the axis from the lcd screen i can also heat up the bed manually.

but it wont print from the sd card or from the repetier software

what have i dont wrong and how do i fix this ?

Hi,I think you can reinstall the lastest version of Repetier Host to try again, and here is the download link:https://www.repetier.com/download-now/.Besides,changing the usb cable may make it work by Repeiter.
As to the SD printing, here are some tips for this case:
1、Use repetier to put files on SD-card and the G-codes have been also in root directory of SD-card.
2、Check your lcd and cable, make sure they have a good connetion.
3、Try to use some high end SD cards.
4、Reinstall the FTDI drivers.
Hope this can help.

Change the USB cable. Try to use a good quality one and as short as possible. I had some similar issues...it was stopping in the middle of the print showing that communication error. The problem was the cable which was too long.
