Auto bed leveling sensor with fanduct

Post by peter1451 » Sat Jan 28, 2017 4:05 am

Hi everybody,
I have Geetech Prusa I3 Pro B.
I want to add Auto bed leveling function using:
https://www.geeetech.com/geeetech-3dtou ... -1010.html

I have printed this part:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1769822

But I want to add the fanduct:
http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=fan ... +pro+B&sa=

Do you have the 3D print model for the combination of Auto bed leveling and fanduct?

Many thanks for help ;)

Hello everybody,

Which distance should I have between the nozzle and leveling sensor?
Because I can have another nozzle as originall.

You need 8.3mm between the bottom of the sensor (not the pin) and the tip of the extruder.

Here is a fan mount for the back of the extruders:

Hi, thank you for your support!!! :D
Now I can make additional fan in a place, where original should be touch sensor.
The distance between the bottom of the sensor means from the case of touch sensor to the tip of the extruder?
How can you get exactly the 8.3mm?

Thank you ;)

You're welcome!

Yes, the bottom of the case to the tip of the nozzle. It's difficult to get exactly 8.3mm, but it needs to be close. You can adjust the Z offset a little to compensate or make some shims if your sensor is too high.

Having the sensor on the back is much better. You can get better calibration because it is closer to the nozzles. In my case it was about 20mm closer on the Y axis.

Hi,
I installed 3D Touch Sensor and works great.
But the printer after autoleveling start to print always in right rear corner.
Below is my Configuration.h file from Marlin:

/*================== Thermal Runaway Protection ==============================
This is a feature to protect your printer from burn up in flames if it has
a thermistor coming off place (this happened to a friend of mine recently and
motivated me writing this feature).

The issue: If a thermistor come off, it will read a lower temperature than actual.
The system will turn the heater on forever, burning up the filament and anything
else around.

After the temperature reaches the target for the first time, this feature will
start measuring for how long the current temperature stays below the target
minus _HYSTERESIS (set_temperature - THERMAL_RUNAWAY_PROTECTION_HYSTERESIS).

If it stays longer than _PERIOD, it means the thermistor temperature
cannot catch up with the target, so something *may be* wrong. Then, to be on the
safe side, the system will he halt.

Bear in mind the count down will just start AFTER the first time the
thermistor temperature is over the target, so you will have no problem if
your extruder heater takes 2 minutes to hit the target on heating.

Maybe someone know how to change the parameters to get the print central in middle?

Hi,

with my last Configuration.h file the print was not in the middle.
I made some changes in configuration file and now the print is in the middle.
Below is configuration.h file from Marlin:

Code: Select all

#ifndef CONFIGURATION_H
#define CONFIGURATION_H

#include "boards.h"

// This configuration file contains the basic settings.
// Advanced settings can be found in Configuration_adv.h
// BASIC SETTINGS: select your board type, temperature sensor type, axis scaling, and endstop configuration

/*================== Thermal Runaway Protection ==============================

3D Touch sensor should measure following:
1. Centre point of the bed.
2. Left front corner
3. Right front corner
4. Right rear corner
5. Left rear corner.

The measure of points: 2,3,4,5 is ok, but for 1st point the sensor is shifted back in y axis.
Maybe someone know why?

I've design a specific version of my customization to fit 3DTouch and fan:
Image
You can found it to GEEETech i3B/C (METAL version): Single Extruder FAN & LED (V3 with 3DTouch)
