Prusa I3 M201 - Z axis is pulled down before printing
Prusa I3 M201 - Z axis is pulled down before printing
Video of the problem:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By_MFo ... sp=sharing
I get a problem where when I send the printing order the printer will home the axis, wait for the right temperature and then it pulls down the nozzle against the bed. When homing it stops in the endstop with no issues, but when attempting to print it ignores the endstop and pulls down against the switch and bed.
I already made a post of this problem but no solution was presented, this printer costed almost three months of my paycheck and I wasn't able to print a single thing with it.
Help?

Sounds weird...Did it happen every time you print?

Every time I try to print, yes. I never printed anything because of this problem, I tried to compensate by lowering the bed but I can't really level it if the endstop works when homing but doesn't when trying to print...

Something new?

Still can't print, it still pulls down, nothing new, just a useless 3D printer sitting on my desk.

Have you checked to see if there is a Z offset in your firmware? If the printer thinks the Z end switch is say 3mm above the bed it would drop it 2.9mm to give you a first layer of .1mm. This would explain what I saw on your video. What software are you using to control your printer? Most of them have setting to adjust the Z offset from the bed.

Hi,Perhaps your Z-axis end stop has some problems. You can change a new one and try again.

It does sound like an end stop issue. Check the cable is plugged into the correct location on the controller card. Next check the wires to the limit switch, it's easy to not have these in the right place since only two of the three terminals are used (you want to use the two connectors furthest apart.
