Hi All,
I ordered a MeCreator 2 and it will be arriving today or tomorrow. I've been using various 3D printers for about 2 years now. And I'm a DIY kinda guy.
So even before the MC2 arrived, I'm looking for ways to modify it
My first question is; can we use a bigger heated bed? Say 20X20? Looking at the pictures, it looks like there's nothing keeping us from swapping in a bigger bed. That X stepper motor could be a limiting factor I guess, but if I drop down the hotend a little more, that should be easily circumvented. To me, height is not as important as X,Y
My second question is, where can I find replacement heated bed for this machine? Mounting holes don't look like "standard" prusa style heated beds.
Cheers,

I think you can keep the actual 150x150 heating bed it will work with your future 200x200 aluminium bed...

Nozzle on mine doesn't leave the print bed so I can't see you gaining anything from a bigger bed.

Ah I got it. Rods don't have enough space to move the hotend around anymore. I can see that from even the pictures.
I think with a bowden style extruder and a smaller carriage, It'd be possible to add 10-15mm extra to the X and Y, but I bought this printer because it's compactness. So that'd defeat the purpose.
Thanks for the replies.
