3D Touch Sensor:Auto-levelling for Geeetech 3D printer
Re: 3D Touch Sensor:Auto-levelling for Geeetech 3D printer
I also saw the mount daveapplemotors posted
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1822188
It seems good and I have actually been working on a design similar to this.
Ill make a print and see how it fits my Acryllic ProB
BUT...
Until Geetech (William) can deliver some code that actually works nothing will be installed on my printer.
The bad news is that I have not yet received my 2nd BLTouch I ordered....Compairing my issues with others I doubt I damaged the 1st one when I mixed wires when soldering...
I think ill ask for a refund on both of them and buy an original Touch instead.
BTW NiklasO - great work on the firmware port - also something Geeetech should do...

Re: 3D Touch Sensor:Auto-levelling for Geeetech 3D printer
I was looking to buy a 3d touch for my acrylic. But my question is the following because I am somewhat confused. Does it work or does it not work?
Re: 3D Touch Sensor:Auto-levelling for Geeetech 3D printer
My sensor works great on my acrylic.

Hi NiklasO,
What exactly is your Geeetech model that works well with the 3DTouch probe?
Thank you !

Bonjour NiklasO,
Quel est votre modèle exactement de Geeetech qui fonctionne bien avec la sonde 3DTouch ?
Merci !

I use the Arduino IDE daily for other stuff and it was a hassle to use the old version to tinker with the firmware. With Marlin 1.1.0-RC7 you can use the latest Arduino IDE.
Here is the result from my test...
Downloaded your firmware
Downloaded Arduino IDE 1.6.12
TestCompile Code
Upload Code
Machine resets.
I go into menu /Prepare / BLTouch Self-Test
Nothing happens...
Dang....
So I start to "fippla" (fettle) with the 3pin connector and suddenly I get some motion from the self-test
I suspect the 3 pin connector is bad so I will replace it with a new 3pin servo connector instead as I have plenty of those lying around.
This is all tested on my new 3d-Touch that arrived yesterday - I must try to see if the old one was acting up due to the connector as well.
Re: 3D Touch Sensor:Auto-levelling for Geeetech 3D printer
I have added a "filament runout sensor" to my printer. I use X_MAX and soldered three small wires to the back of the PCB (need power, gnd and signal). I couldn't get it to work. "Fipplade" for hours. My soldering was good, right? It wasn't. I had managed to bridge two points. I should have looked at my soldering first thing but I had mounted the board and everything but... yeah. Lätt att vara efterklok ("easy to be wise after the event" said Google translate, lol).
Re: 3D Touch Sensor:Auto-levelling for Geeetech 3D printer
OK I did some tests with both sensors and they do work 100% - great to have a spare or wasted money...
My sensor is currently mounted to the Geeetech mount - and I need to adjust the offset ever so little to get nozzle closer to printbed.
I must do some reading on that issue before I try testprint.
As is my nozzle is actually a bit lower than the sensor...if I knew how much I could add spacers between the sensor and the bracket to finetune the height - even better if we had adjustable mounting for it.

Thanks!
My sensor stopped working today. The screw you use to set the pin distance in the sensor moves when the printer vibrates during print. I just had to adjust it but it's too loose and will move again. If the screw moves during measurement, the distance will be wrong. Looking for solutions..
Getting some "thread-locking fluid" I think..
Edit:
"#define min_software_endstops false" in FW allows me to go negative on the Z-axis.
And yes, Sweden here.

hello
for fix this simply put teflon tape around the screw .You can find the teflon tape in the plumbing section in the hardware store
bye

That's what I did. Had some at home. Thanks.
