A4988 card KO

Post by cecemoto » Mon Oct 24, 2016 2:58 pm

Hello to all I'm new in the geeetech familly :D

I received my new Geeetech I3 Pro B 2 weeks ago and I finish the building this week-end. When I try to make it working The Y axis was some times shaking and other times works.
I thought that was the motor so I cross the connection with the X axis motor => after The X axis motor was shaking and the Y was working well
After I reconnect the motor on their right connectors and the Y axis start again shaking.
I discovered that if I touch the A4988 Stepper Motor Driver the Y axis was working normally but some times not.
I crossed the A4988 Stepper Motor Driver with the Z axis and after that the is was the Z axis who shakes.
I Tried a printing obviously it doesn't succeed.

For the expert in the forum does my diagnostic correct or do you have other Idea to find the origine of my issue ?

Thanks to all

Hi,
You can measure if the voltage between the potentiometer and GND was too low,and increase it if it was:

Hello, I tried to measure the voltage between the potentiometer and the ground. I got 0.78V I tried to modify the value to obtain 1V but it was difficult. Since the motor doesn't move any more. I tried to change the A4988 card with the motor of the X axis and the issue follow the card the X axis doesn't move and the Y axis does.
Do you have an other idea ?

if not I think that the card is over !
The printer never works, how could I received a spare parts .

Sounds like the A4988 on Y axis has some problems, you can ask your seller for a replacement.
