M201 dual colour printing

...has anyone ever had any success using the dual extruders to print with gradient colour? If so I would be really grateful if someone had some step by step guidance - how to configure the firmware, Slic3r, RepetierHost etc.

I am sure there is something like this available on this forum, but I'll be jiggered if I can find it!
