Need help with print quality failure
Need help with print quality failure
Hi,
I am hoping someone here can help me identify this problem and help me get it fixed =)
I am using the Geeetech I3 Pro B via USB on a Win 7 computer. I am using the current version of RepetierHost and I copied the GEEEtech-PI3A printer definition.
Extruder temp is 210 and bed is 65, .4mm nozzle, speed ranges from 40-55. PLA 1.75mm, .2mm layer height. Extrusion width of .42mm, extrusion multiplier of 1.0
Image of failed print is attached to post.
Thanks for any help =)
EDIT: fixed attachment

Re: Need help with print quality failure
where's the image? for PLA 210 is a little high, try to use 190-195. What's your first layer speed? keep it slow at first layer about 15-25mm/s.
And the stringing, increase the retraction length and the speed. Here is a link for you to check out:

Same/Similar issues with the print as before.
I changed extruder heat to 195/195, and first layer speed to 25mm. Retraction speed is set to 100mm with a length of 3mm.
Attaching the results of that attempt.

Re: Need help with print quality failure
what's your settings? I'll give a slic3r settings for you here, using repetier host1.6.0 and it's bulit-in slic3r, you can upload it and see if it helps.
And remember to set a proper distance between the nozzle and bed, usually it is the thickness of an normal paper or the filament won't stick to the bed well.

I use the settings provided here: http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 21&t=16379Mark wrote:what's your settings? I'll give a slic3r settings for you here, using repetier host1.6.0 and it's bulit-in slic3r, you can upload it and see if it helps.

I tried your config file with no real improvements, I cancelled the print after about 25%.
I am at a complete loss now that proven config settings are failing. It has to be a hardware failure and it has barely been used (testing only). I bought it last year and took a long time putting it togther.

Re: Need help with print quality failure
is your filament newly bought or old one? Could it be the bad filament? And how's your printer settings in the menu? are they the same with your slic3r settings?
Maybe make a video for us to see what happened.

Re: Need help with print quality failure
The filament is about a year old, it's what I got with the unit. I just ordered a new roll from hatchbox which should arrive in a couple days then I will try again.Mark wrote:is your filament newly bought or old one? Could it be the bad filament? All the settings I used are from the link I posted earlier and from your config file you attached.
Thanks for the help so far, I'll follow up after testing with new filament.
