Hi there,
I have just ordered a geeetech prusa i3 x. It should be switchable between one and two extruders. My question is what I need to make the switch, is it enough to buy the mk8 dual extruder or do I need anything else?
Best regards
Tobias.

You need another bracket, you can print it by yourself.I'll send you the stl files.

Will I also need a larger power supply?
Re: Geeetech prusa i3 x as dualhead
No, the original power supply is OK. This is the same power supply for the dual extruder printer.

Hi Mark. I picked up another MK8 extruder for my Prusa I3X. Can you send me the STL files needed for the dual extruder? I think there are two parts from what your picture shows, but I'm not sure.

1.an MK8 dual extruder or buy a MK8 single extruder with a metal extruder holder;
2. an extra motor driver A4988 and heat sink;
3. an extra heating cartridge and thermistor, they should have been mounted on the extruder I guess;
4. stl files for MK8 dual extruder, check the link here:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 10&t=16772
5. firmware for I3 pro C, check the link:

6. a new power supply at least 12V 20A;
you can consult with geeetech salesman and see if we missed something here, and i3 x has upgraded to metal one.
