Extruder motor not turning
Extruder motor not turning
Hi I have an issue with the extruder motor. When plugged into the extruder port it does not turn. However when I swap it with the x-axis motor it works perfectly.
As a result I cannot print. I have also done the following to verify that the below are working;
- Set the extruder temperature to 230deg Celsius - verified
- Checked that the PSU outputs 12V from each rail - verified
- Adjusted potentiometer to exactly 1V - verified
- Swapped motor cable to check if the issue if due to a bad cable
- Swapped motor driver with x-axis driver to check if the driver is working properly
I did all the above tests however the problem persists.
Can you tell me what can I do to resolve this issue? Is this coming from a faulty board? I have the white GT2560 board.
Awaiting your reply.
Malcolm.

Hi, how about re-uploading the firmware? What is your printer type? We will send the firmware to your email.

I have uploaded the firmware you sent me however the issue still persists.
I believe that the board you sent me is faulty. I also noticed that this is a common issue with your printers.
Please reply asap.

Re: Extruder motor not turning
Hello, has anyone with a new i3 dual extrude since June with the extruder not working found a fix. I keep getting a run-a-round and no resolution. Searching the forum, I not the only one too. So is there someone that found a fix yet?

Re: Extruder motor not turning
I have the same problem with both, and have swapped X axis with the Extruder then it works fine.
