calibrating

Ok I have my printer setup and ready to run. How do you set home positions. Also when I tried to start a print the x axis goes to the left and start to make a grinding noise please help

I also finished to assembly the printer, and has the same question. so every time I want to print something, do I need to reposition Z-axis?
because it is really time consuming if I have it all the way up!!

Normally, you don't need to reposition z axis. How do you calibrate the distance between nozzle and glass?
Does the height of hot bed lower itself when you are heating the bed?
