Re: X-Axis motor jumping around
I don't think so, because it did it even when I was not printing and just trying to adjust the motor with the manual control.
It would jump and shake the printer eveytime I pressed the X+ 1mm button. And then when pressing Home X, it would come back really fast and hit the stop switch hard.
I think it is due to the current adjustment POT, its just unstable for some reason.

Is the x motor driver fine?

Re: X-Axis motor jumping around
I have exchanged the X-Axis driver for the Second Extruder Driver and have no problems so far. So maybe there is something wrong with the x-axis driver and it's POT current adjustment.
Is there a way to get a replacement?

You can buy a new one from seller, or you can buy it somewhere near your home.

But if it came defective from Getech, why do I have to purchase it myself?

Re: X-Axis motor jumping around
I just returned from vacation and finally had some time to try the 3D printer again.
It still is not working. I have done all that has been suggested. I updated the firmware, changed the motor driver (I received a new one from you guys). All the drivers have heat sinks.
I try to print an object and before long, the X-axis starts going crazy. The other motors (Y and Z) behave perfectly.
I have not been able to make a single good print with this printer, just wasted and wasted plastic.
The erratic behavior is very random some times it takes 10 layers and some times it happens on the second layer. The X-motor just goes crazy and I have to abort the print.
What can I do?

Re: X-Axis motor jumping around
Seems like a lossing step. What's the voltage of your X driver? It should be 0.8-1.5V, how about adjusting it to 1.0V?

Re: X-Axis motor jumping around
The reference voltage on the x-motor driver was 0.76V
I raised it up to 1V and the problem persists. It still goes out of control after a couple layers. I think that now at 1V, it does it earlier.
I do not think skipping steps is the issue here. When I say the motor jumps around, I mean IT GOES CRAZY, IT VIOLENTLY MOVES as if each step is multiplied by 10.
As I have mentioned before, I have tried adjusting the driver pot before and the best I have been able to do is correct the problem just momentarily. When I try to print it does it again. I have updated the firmware, I have changed the driver, both exchanging it with another axis and by using the replacement that was sent to me.
Any ideas? The printer has been useless, I have put sooooo much time into fixing all the problems it has and still it does not work. Its not fair.
