Already tried it, the ticking goes faster and slower. But still doesn't load the filament properly.. Maybe the system isn't compatible with 3MM ?
Oh, jesus, I ignored this point! I am so sorry.
Yes, if you want to print with 3mm filament, you need to change the extruder.
You can try 1.75mm filament.
Sorry for wasting your so much time.
So your saying that this will not work?? how is this possible then that I bought your 3D printer with the 3MM filament and extruder??

I still can not print and already made some extra costs by Rita (from your email support). Gotten some parts missing in the kit and I wanted it fast, so he/she had the idea for buying some nozzles and would send the replacement parts with DHL to me. Nozzles costed me 10€, shipping another 20€. And still she/he managed to send half of the parts trough hong kong post :/.. Already paid 30€ extra for printing and still can not print. Also bought a new roll filament to try with that, another 30€..

And now you suggest to buy a new extruder because it will not work with the one I've gotten from you guys for the 3mm kit..

If I hade the chance to turn back time, I would never hade bought it with Geeetech. So many problems.. And extra costs to "make it work"..

Did some research on the Internet, and on Google they prefer the j-head hotend with an wade's extruder for 3mm filament. Now that I have 2 rolls of 3 mm, I would like an j-head hotend from you guys, and I'll buy the rest of the mechanical parts somewhere else, that this shit is done, and I can print finally.. So the effort needs to come from you, as a solution to print..

Please test the diameter of tude. If it's 1.75 mm, how about sending you a 3mm PTFE tube?

I have nothing to do with 1.75 mm. The kit that I bought from you guys is for 3mm and all parts that I've gotten in for 3 mm. So as you said and like the Internet, 3mm with direct drive extruder is not possible or really hard.. In my case it's not working and just waisting all filament I've gotten from the kit from you guys.

Don't understand why you guys are selling it then.. That's why I'm asking to send me a j-head so I can make/buy myself the other parts.. And that I can finally print. The extruder from you guys will never work on this way..

Hi, I did buy your printer also Geeetech MK8 I think. Even dont know where to start. About ticking, I have same problem, using 1.75mm PLA fillament. I did manually change numbers : Extrude 45 and Retract 15 speed 100....dosent matter what i will put there, keeps doing that.

Manly I did change numbers cause he coulndt print second layer normaly, ONly first layer is coming perfect and then it is just fibers.

now I have manly spended 3 weeks of fixing this printer...only one print.

Can anyone help ?

Maybe it is slicer setting issue, you can refer to this page to set slicing:

When I print other layer then it will start to give very small ammount of fillament. Now it was first time when fillament was good first 40 layers and it did start again. any ideas ?

Mine does exactly the same thing and tried everything like you did, still ticks..! I have a Sanguinololu board with a 1.7 barrel and 0.3 head .

Please tell me what's wrong with your extruder, and tell me what you have tried?

I'm running into the same problem, extruder motor starts ticking halfway through a print and almost no more filament is extruded. After unscrewing the nozzle I can push the filament down and remove a 'plug' of filament which is most likely the cause of the blockage :)

The only thing that seems to help is to set the temperature much higher (220-230 degrees) then it seems to work (PLA 1.75 mm)

*Edit: Another thing. I noticed that the extruder motor was clicking when doing the infill, but not when doing the perimeters. After slowing the infill speed a little the problem was completely resolved. Now I'm having problems with a sagging extruder holder... :(
