No response from Sanguinololu Board

I recently purchased an i3 pro B printer kit. After assembling all the parts, I hooked everything up to the Sanguinololu board, but only the fans started to spin. When I tried to connect it to my pc, I didn't get the LED light to light and the computer says there's a problem with the device. The LCD screen on the top doesn't light or show any characters either. I checked the power supply and am getting around 12 V DC and it's making it to the board, because the fan is working, but the servos aren't moving and the LCD panel is dark. Any idea how I can find out why the board is not responding? If you need any more information, please let me know.
