Printer Setup Problems
Hey I just completed building my printer. Firstly one fan was dead when I turned it on the first time. Now Ive been trying to install firmware on my mac and linux boxes and neither with recognize a printer has been connected in repetier. Cura does connect but will not move any of the motors. Let me know what I am doing wrong. Next is to rebuild my windows 7 machine and try it there. I think the gt board may not be installing the correct drivers.

Re: Printer Setup Problems
Firstly, you need to know everything correctly.
Driver is used to have your printer connected to computer successfully. Now that you can connect your fan to Repetier, I think you have successfully installed the driver.
The Baud rate should be 250000.
Firmware is a series of code which is used to make the printer functional, and it has been uploaded to GT2560 before sending to you.
We use Repetier to control the printer and print model. So we can't tell you how to control your printer in Cura.
Only when you plugged the fan wire reversedly, will the fan be dead. How did you connect the fan? Leave a picture, let me check.
If you want to move the motor separately, you need to let all the axes auto home first.

Re: Printer Setup Problems
Okay so I have got it setup in windows 7. Got the fan working. But The motors still will not move in repetier. It connects to repeater and I have set up all the slicer settings as well as printer settings. Pressing the home button allows me to control them but when I press the buttons nothing works at all. The heated bed and extruders heat up but the z, x and y stepper motors still do not move or even try to move.

How do you connect the enstops? Are they connected to "MIN" slots?

sure is! I can control the extruder and bed temperatures and they are heating and cooling, but the stepper motors won't make any sounds or move

Yes the baud rate is 250000. here is the photo of the wires connected into the min slots. I cannot move the extruder or x. It says 1 command waiting and will not move

Before you swapped x motor drivers with extruder motor driver, you could move extruder. It seem the x driver is bad.
But I am not sure completely. What is the version of Repetier? Is it 1.0.6?
