Extruder Fan is Alway On!

Post by jhoarty » Thu Apr 02, 2015 7:00 am

I cannot get my extruder fan to stop running all the time. Even if I set auto cool in the software, or change the speed on the LCD screen, nothing happens. It runs at the same speed all the time. Ideas?

Sorry, there is no any controlling compoment on fans's circuit, so you can 't control its speed. You can only let them on or off. But we are considering improve it.

OK, thanks for that answer. However, the only way to turn it on or off is to plug it in or unplug it? Even on/off is not controllable from the software or LCD menu. Is this correct?

Yes you are right. But its power is only 1.32W. So I think it's not necessary to do that when not printing. Oh, there is one thing I have to tell you, you must have the fan on when printing or the printing will be effected .

Is it not more desirable to point the fan at the build rather than the back of the stepper motors?
