Overhangs (cliff edges) on 3D parts Sag...

Post by email4walker » Thu Mar 26, 2015 12:08 am

Hello,

I have the GeeeTech i3B printing ABS filament. When I print 3D parts, any overhangs (Cliff type edges) sag. In my example pictures, you can see under the dogs chin, the ABS dose not stay in place. It sags down. I tried printing the perimeter at 80%, 60% 30% and 20% speed. It still sags. I tried printing different parts too, same result on cliff/overhanging edged. Does anybody have any thoughts on how to fix this? This problem limits the things I can print.

(This printer has one extruder, so support filament/structure is not an option.)

Thanks.

You can try to add support material and raise bridge speed:

Ok. Problem fixed. I slowed down my perimeter print speed, increased my perimeter wall to 4 (number of external layers or shells), and increased my extrusion multiplier to 3.

FYI: For anyone else that might be following this, I am using Matter Control for my 3D printer software. The other one has the same settings, but the names may be a little different.
